Generating Leads With Facebook Groups On Autopilot
Hey there guys, Reggie here again from The Contractor Social Media Guru with another article dedicated to helping contractors dominate their social media efforts. Today we're going to be diving into on of my favorite ways of generate organic leads for contractors on social media.
Since my early days working with contractors on social media this has been a fool proof way to generate leads when done properly. The best part of it all is the fact that you don't need to be spending anything on this unless you don't have the time to do it yourself.
Before I get into things I'd to point out that this is in no way going to generate you as much free business as your Google Business Listing so please don't focus more of your energy on this than what you would on your Google Listing.
Lets not waste any time further & dive right in.
Creating content that home & property owner will interact with. ( This is where quality comes in. )
Before you even consider finding the right groups to advertise on you're going to need to start of by deciding what type of content you're going to be putting out.
What you need to keep in mind is the following:
- How consistently can I generate this content ✅
- How is this content going to generate business for my company✅
- What is my call to action going to be. ✅
What I am about to say is going to push a few buttons but here goes nothing. The "below average" quality branded content that your ads agency is putting out is unfortunately not going to cut it and sharing that far & wide is only going to make you look like a cowboy.
I'm going to give you two methods here that are really going to help you generate those leads and keep them coming granted that you remain consistent in posting the content you create. (CONSISTENCY IS THE GOLDEN RULE HERE).
1. Get behind the camera!
The first method & my favorite for obvious reasons is creating video content. The #1 reason this works so well is simple. People connect with people before they ever connect with any brand. The same applies to your contractor company. Get behind the camera and shoot a few videos talking about what you do, why you do it & why you're the best local option there is.
2. Create "high quality" branded content.
Here's the 2nd best way you can go about getting home & Property owners to trust you on Facebook groups. Look the part! Whether we like to admit it or not, brand plays a big role in the buyer choices we make each day. This has been proven time & time again in countless studies all over the world. So why wouldn't it apply here?
When I say HIGH QUALITY I mean a quality that an international brand would be comfortable putting Infront of all of their customers without batting an eye. Something that is often overlooked when it comes to branded content is quality and that is where many contractors fall short of their competition who are already doing so much more than just marketing their business in groups.
Finding the right groups to advertise your contractor business on.
This part is really important because there are 1000's of groups that are 100% useless on Facebook. What you're looking for are groups that are controlled by active admins living within your service area community groups or groups that are run by local organizations or parties.
We've listed our favorite types of groups to scout for leads below:
1. "Buy & Sell" groups
2. "In The Know" groups
3. Community Forums
3. Community Forums
4. "What's Hot In" groups
5. Local contractor groups.
You'll know you've found a good groups when there are questions you have to answer before you can join or post.
Connecting your contractor brand to your chosen community groups.
Now that you've managed to 30 or so "high quality" local service area groups its important make sure that your Facebook Business page is connected to them. How you do this is by making sure that when you join a group you do so as your page and not as your personal profile. Some groups won't allow for you to join as your business page so don't sweat it, just skip to the next one.
You'll know that your page has been correctly connected to a group when it's added to your "Share to groups" list which can be found under every post on your Facebook page.
Distributing your content in respectful way. ( Autopilot )
Before we discuss auto pilot sharing I'd like to point out that it is important to read the rules of each group that you're on to make sure you don't get removed or banned.
Group rules can always be found at the top so make sure you're "in the know" when it comes to what you can & can't post.
Now lets talk about the juicy stuff ( Autopilot Sharing )
You're probably expecting me to give you a link to some 3rd `party software that's going to take care of this all right? WRONG! What I am about to tell you might come as a huge surprise but business.facebook.com has actually build out a tool like this itself and its all incorporated into your content scheduling function in Business Suite.
As of right now the tool is limited to only 3 share to prevent abuse which is a touching limiting in terms of reaching larger audiences. The good news is that if you're content is consistent & of quality then before you know it you're going to be getting calls from Facebook almost every single week.
Here is a step by step guide on how to automate your sharing:
Step 1: Open Business Suite and select "Planner"
Step 2: Next you're going to click the "Create" button
Step 3: Click the drop down menu & select the various platforms & groups you would like to cross post too.
My closing $0.02 on the matter....
If you're currently paying someone to create content to your social media & they're not doing this then I suggest you move on to a company that are taking all the necessary steps to make sure you reach as many organic prospects as possible.
There is not a single doubt in my mind that when done correctly & consistently, this method produces business and sometimes a lot more than you'd expect.
I like closing my blogs of by saying thank you to each & every one of you out there for taking the time to stop by and learn with me. I'm passionate about contractor social media & I'd honestly LOVE to connect with you.
