5 Other Contractors & Services Roofers Should Be Keeping In Their Referral Network

Hey there guys, Reggie here again from The Contractor Social Media Guru with todays blog article entry. Today I thought we'd take a look at the power of networking & how roofing business owners could go about building out their own personal referral networks within their local services areas.

I've always been a firm believer of the fact that teamwork makes dreamwork & that's why I decided to throw this article together for you guys today. I'd love hear your recommendations on other companies roofers should be networking with and why so feel free to drop your comments at the bottom for me to take a look at.

Before we dive in I'd just like to thank each & every one of you for taking the time to read my blog. As much as these articles take a lot of time to put together I sure to appreciate all the feedback.

1. Bin Cleaning Services.

The reason bin cleaning services are a fantastic asset to any home improvement referral network is due to the sheer size of their often MASSIVE client base. Let me put this into perspective for you.

Each home has on average 2 Wheel Bins. Based on some research I conducted on 3 separate companies I came to a rough average price of around $10 - 15 per bin. In order for the business model to be profitable they are going to need quiet a few bins so that means lots of door knocking & lots of advertising.

Roof damage is often visible from the street where bins are collected or cleaned meaning a referral is as easy as pointing a finger and giving out a card.

2. Power Washing Services.

Another "must have" in your home improvement referral network is a power washing service. Think of these guys as your siding inspection crew that you didn't have to send out on company time or money.

Power washing services are contracted for a variety of reasons from cleaning up dirty driveways all the way through to power washing dirt covered siding and gutters. This means they notice damaged shingles from the driveway & siding / gutter damage long before some homeowners do. This gives them a chance to report it to you or refer the homeowner to your roofing company alternatively depending on the situation

Once again, in order to make this model work owners are going to be knocking a lot of doors to get the word out & that is always great if you're part of a referral network so make sure to stay in your local power washing services good books and start referring them in return.

3. Landscaping & Lawn / Tree Manicuring Services.

Why send on of your guys to compile a roof report when you get the Tree Surgeon to check for damage for you right. I'm obviously joking but what I am serious about is the fact that he has a really good view of what's going on up there.

The best is he can not only see the roof on the property he is on but the other 5 houses built around it to. Shingle Roof care & Tree Maintenance go hand in hand so keeping one in your network for referrals only makes sense.

Lawn care services are also great because of the above mentioned large client bases and the possible chance that they might spot a loose shingle or two damaged by the previous nights storm winds.

4. HVAC Contractors.

HVAC guys see the top of a roof a lot more than they probably anticipated when stepping into the niche but none the less that is 100% beside the point. What I'm getting at here is it's considered "Smart Practice" keeping one of these guys around especially if you're working in the commercial roofing space.

They're bound to generate you more commercial leads than that guy who dropped you a DM on Facebook Messenger would and the best part is you don't need to pay them $150.

5. Rope Access Contractors.

This one is especially for the roofing contractors in the commercial space that are focusing their efforts on apartment blocks, office spaces & other commercial buildings which require rope access qualified technicians to access the windows or exterior side of the building to do work or repairs

As you probably already know, those ropes are suspended from the roof & that means someone has to go up there. What better way to know if a roof needs work or not other than actually looking with your own eyes? Or perhaps even the eyes of a Rope Access Technician.

My closing 2c on referral networks......

If you're still going about business with the understanding the word of mouth only comes from your past clients then it's time to build out your network today. The beauty of it all is that it stems so much further than business. When networking we create genuine connections which sometimes last a lifetime.

It's as easy as jumping onto Google right now, searching for your network by name, calling them up and scheduling a coffee appointment to chat.

What starts off as a small referral network could very well one day turn into millions of dollars in sales for everyone.

I'm going to close this article today off by saying that I'd love to connect with each & every one of you that are taking the time to read our blog.

If you'd like to connect with me to talk about your roofing or contractor type business then all you have to do is click the big "Book Now" button below to schedule a call with me to chat.

Alternatively we could connect over Facebook or LinkedIn if that suited you better.

Good luck out there today guys & thank you for taking the time to read.
